My songs follow my own life path through my unique journey. Here are some descriptions of my original songs.
Human Decency
My father was a humanitarian, and he worked with immigrants and refugees throughout his career. This song is a reaction to all of the negative and dehumanizing language targeting immigrants from the top. The immigrant pleads to the other person to see his point of view and to have human decency.
Going Away
My life has been one of constant movement. This song channels the movement and paints a picture of the different stages of emotional and developmental states associated with moving and coping.
Bended Knee
A spiritual song that illustrates a time in my life where I felt like I had nothing except my guitar and a connection to a higher power.
Let It Go
This song came from a time in my life where I felt like I was playing a character in a game and acting every day in a way that was not genuine. I realized that the solution was that I could quit this game and find another path for true freedom and empowerment. This is also an important message to others who also feel trapped in a cycle of guilt and shame.
My Dear Friend
My spiritual song, what gave me strength when I was in China. This melody gives the presence of a person and has been an important part of my journey with the Chinese language. I am always rediscovering myself through this song.
